Dear friends,
While July usually marks a slowdown for watchmaking in Switzerland with the entire industry taking a break - things at MING are as frenetic and busy as ever.
In addition to beginning shipping for Project 21, Midnight and 20.01 Series 5, we also debuted the Monolith - which is, in our humble opinion, the ideal summer watch.
The DLC coated, 100m WR, 38mm stainless steel case means it is hard-wearing and comfortable: exactly what you want during summer travels and activities. The Mango FKM rubber adds a seasonally appropriate splash of colour whilst remaining swimming pool/ lake/ beach safe. And the black sapphire dial and MING Polar White ensure legibility by sunlight or starlight.
We have a few of the Monolith remaining for this year - you can order yours here or via the button below.
For our friends in Europe - we will be setting up shop at Geneva Watch Days, together with our friends from the Alternative Horological Alliance ! It would be our pleasure to welcome you at the EastWest Hotel from 4-6 September.
In addition to our current collection, we will also have prototypes of our next release and the long teased monopusher in an all new case family. To ensure a great experience, we recommend RSVP’ing in advance here.
Zach & Zach, our friends and supporters from Worn & Wound recently published this video talking about some of our watches - including a few from their personal collections. Check out their thoughts and join the conversation over on their YouTube. Thanks Zach(s)!
If you prefer some reading content instead, Xavier Markl at Monochrome sat down with Ming Thein for a conversation about the past, present and future of MING. Find out what MT had to say here.
This month’s non-horological recommendation comes from the more dapper members of the team (i.e. not MT or Praneeth) - it is an episode of the Blamo! podcast with Ken Sakata/ @frontoffice.co exploring the origins, and growth of the Front Office brand and more.
Until next month,
Team MING
